INFANTS – Contact us at least one month before the due date of a child to make arrangements.

First Holy Communion

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion is administered as a group (usually once a year, around September - October), or individually (at any time by arrangement). Contact us at least six weeks before to make arrangements. Those who are to receive their First Holy Communion will need to provide proof that they are prepared for the Sacrament (an interview with one of the priests at Girraween), and provide a current Baptismal Certificate (issued from the place of baptism within six months of the date of First Holy Communion).

Confirmation

Confirmation is held every two years at Maternal Heart Church at Lewisham, Sydney, usually in May. All those to be confirmed will need to provide proof that they are prepared for the sacrament (an interview with one of the priests at Girraween), and a current baptismal certificate (issued from the place of baptism within six months of the date of Confirmation). Letters of suitability may be required of the sponsor. Dates will be announced approximately two months prior to Confirmation.

Holy Matrimony
Contact one of the priests not less than six months prior to proposed date of marriage; a preparation program is required to be completed.

How do I become Catholic?
To become Catholic one must receive the Sacrament of Baptism, or, if one has already been baptised and wants to join the Catholic Church, a Profession of Faith must be made. Before one is baptized or makes a Profession of Faith, he must be taught the truths and duties of the Faith.
